Ok,so i just had my first soccer practice yestersay and my head was feeling all weird. I had headaches at the beginning, and i could keep my eye on the ball. I asked my health teacher for suggestions, he said, "replace half of your foods that come from a package with food that comes from the earth, like apples." I asked my mom for a food that could improve vision, and she said carrots. So what foods should I eat?

I remember playing soccer when I was younger. It takes a lot of running and some heading. It takes a bit to get used to all the running. Hopping up and down in spare moments can be very helpful in increasing and building circulation. Pushups are also very good in increasing and building circulation in the upper body.
Nutrition is very important but will not change blurry vision. A diet that is complex and diverse is very good. We should all avoid white sugar and white flour, they are not complex and diverse and they increase the bad bacteria and fungus in our bodies.
The head feeling all weird and the sluggishness of the eyes was probably mostly circulation related. Heading the ball with a soft unadapted head will also have a big impact. Heading the ball should be minimized in the beginning and very slowly increased to give the body plenty of time to adapt.

Carrots are really great for improving your vision! I remember, when I was little, I ate so many carrots, that I turned orange!

That is a great question and it is wonderful that you are asking it at your age. Nutrition can have a profound affect on our health and our vision. Generally speaking, a healthy body means healthy vision. The health of our eyes is a reflection of the health of the rest of our body.
Your teacher’s suggestion to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and less processed foods is a great suggestion. Here are some other suggestions:
1) Eat more complex carbs – like brown rice, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, sweet potatoes (rather than white rice, white breat, white pasta or white potatoe)
2) Eat healthy fats – like olive oil, flax seed oil, oily fish like salmon
Stay away from saturated fats that you find in cookies, candy, chips,
brownies, ice cream, etc
