I really want to be a commercial pilot but in order to be one, I have to have 20/20 vision with or without optical aids, but I have 20/40…
I am 15 years old now and I really want to know what I can do to improve my eyesight, so I can become a commercial pilot and maybe not resort to doing a laser surgery.
Anyone know ways to improve vision, eyesight?

stop watching TV,computer and playing video games.there are ways to tease your eyes making them stronger. DO NOT wear you glasses or contacts, that actually makes them weaker. but if you want to be a pilot than play this game…its great!

There are lots of theories on why our vision changes. As long as your eyes are healthy and free of an eye disease that reduces your vision, be thankful. The above referenced exercises do not work… I believe there was a lawsuit against the seeclearly people as well as the company that sold pinhole glasses years ago. See a trusted eye doctor to obtain the best vison with glasses or contacts. At age 15, it is likely that you will experience vision changes as you go through adolescence and early adulthood. Don’t give up the dream of being a pilot…. even if you have to wear glasses, contacts or have surgery!

The best answer is you have to try stuff yourself or just accept that you’ll need vision correction. The reason I say this is if you want the easy answer doctors will tell you it simply. YOU CAN’T IMPROVE YOUR VISION! However, I have heard of a lot of people who have improved their vision especially with low nearsightedness. The problem is I can’t give you any guarantee in what will work or won’t work. A lot of the natural vision improvement stuff is based on rejected scientific theories. Your best attempt is to probably do a combination of eye exercise/relaxation exercises with the use of + lenses for near work. But remember eye exercises don’t relax the muscles to make you see better, so there has to be some other reason if they actually work. I have tried stuff with an open mind and it seems kind of ineffective. A person i knew from college says that eye exercises had worked for him a little bit. Theres just no satisfactory explanation why it would work and is therefore rejected as psuedo science.
There are some less heretical theories going around that say people with only a little bit of nearsightedness can reverse psuedo myopia if they use + lens treatment if the cause was from too much nearwork.
If you want to listen to the eye doctors who say there is no way to prevent or reverse myopia then fine listen to them. I think you can somewhat prevent myopia or reverse psuedo myopia but in our culture of computers, tvs and homework its almost impossible to stop the negative affects these bring when your genetics tend toward nearsightedness.

I read in an article that Vitamin A is good for your eyes but I’m not sure if that for eyesight.

Do you mean you have 20/40 even with glasses on? If so, you must have an eye disease or have had some eye trauma. So the question needs to be put to your eye doctor as to whether there is any treatment for the eye disorder.
If you have 20/20 with glasses and 20/40 without glasses, please reread your first sentence: 20/20 WITH or without glasses. If you have 20/20 with glasses, you qualify now.

Have you heard of Pinhole Glasses? I found it on the internet & they said they uses this BATES methods that can improve ur eyes. I haven’t try them yet but wanna try it out. Maybe you can try them too. Btw don’t wear glasses if it’s not necessary cause it will just worsen ur eyesight.
